DescriptionRequirements:
The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for underwriting policy, pricing policy and form development as well as new business underwriting of E&O insurance to Registered Investment Advisors (RIA), Investment Advising Representatives (IAR), Financial Planners and Asset Managers. The person we seek will be accustomed to meeting production goals while consistently achieving an underwriting profit. Further the Underwriting Manager will develop and reinforce favorable broker relationships and deliver outstanding customer service. While this position is designed for an individual contributor at the outset, it is expected that the Underwriting Manager will be able to move into a supervisory role as the book of business grows, new products are developed and additional underwriters are hired. Specific responsibilities include:
o Developing and instituting underwriting policies and guidelines
o Creating and overseeing pricing policy
Form development
o Adhering to assigned authority levels
o Helping to set and striving to attain organizational targets for new business premiums and renewal retentions
o Effectively manage relationships with producers served by you and team members. This may include driving activities such as seminars, training and on-site meeting by you and your superiors.
o Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of all of the companys products and marketing services
o Offer suggestions for improving internal workflow effectiveness and new or enhanced product ideas
o Foster and develop team spirit by supporting other team members
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years current E&O (Registered Investment Advisors (RIA), Investment Advising Representatives (IAR), Financial Planners and Asset Managers) underwriting expertise in surplus lines.
Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility.
Four year college degree and/or CPCU or similar designation preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
PC literate with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Must be a team player that enjoys a flexible and spontaneous business environment
Up to 25% travel
