Commercial Producer, Broker-Underwriter for a 
  • key position,
  • working with retail brokers on program business,
  • retention,
  • new business,
  • keeping up on the "appetite" of the retail insurance commercial needs for their clients.
  • Some travel, should possess good presentation and negotiation skills.

Essential Duties
  • Ability to oversee and handle new business production and renewals
  • Interface, develop and maintain relationships with our carriers
  • Reviews quotations with producers and negotiates terms and conditions
  • Analyze and underwrite the exposure through a comprehensive review of application information and supporting documentation
  • Adhere to Company specific underwriting authority, guidelines, rates, forms and documentation requirements
  • Enter and maintain data in Management System
  • Monitor book of business.
  • Prepares and presents action plans for management
  • Respond to producers on coverage questions or other inquiries in a timely, professional manner, troubleshooting where necessary
  • Act as trainer and mentor to junior level staff members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to set and manage priorities
Sales Duties
  • Performs Producer/Agency visits and makes presentations on an “as needed” basis
  • Develops and manages business relationships with Producer/Agents P&C
Program Management Duties
  • Stays informed of underwriting trends, loss trends, competitive issues, markets, resources, and processes.
  • Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root causes, and makes recommendations
  • Maintains familiarity with state laws and filing requirements within assigned territory to properly transact business within a state.
  • Identifies and recommends changes to policy verbiage when standard text is not appropriate.
  • Assist with the development of special programs, underwriting procedures, and educational seminars.

  • Minimum 5+ years Property & Casualty related work experience
  • Self-directed and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Good oral, written, communication and software skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service / relationship building skills
  • Licensed Property/Casualty for Washington State
  • Prefer 4 year degree
