One of our national clients, with a regional office located in Charlotte, is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter with strong casualty experience in the construction industry. The ideal individual will have at least five or more years of related casualty underwriting experience dealing with construction industry accounts that can include general contractors, electrical and plumbing contractors, land improvement and site preparation, street & road builders, bridge builders,etc. A strong preference for someone with excellent marketing abilities is also desired. This individual will work with brokers and independent agencies in the Carolinas and surrounding areas. Experience in handling Workers Comp, GL, Commercial Auto, Construction Defect coverages is desired. Strong experience in the Workers Comp arena will be important. The individual should also enjoy field marketing and occasional overnight travel that will probably not exceed 6 nights per quarter.
A college degree is preferred, along with evidence of continuing development thru completion or enrollment in programs like CPCU , ARM, etc. The client is seeking someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is well organized, who also has good time management skills, is a team player and has strong analytical and underwriting skills.
