Since 1987, HomeTown has been helping members stay healthier, while helping employers handle managed health care. We're locally owned and operated, serving nearly 75,000 members--and large and small employers--in Stark, Summit, Portage, Medina, Wayne, Carroll, Tuscarawas and Holmes counties. Our network includes 29 northeast Ohio hospitals and more than 2,100 physicians. HomeTown employs 170 people with offices in Massillon and Akron.
HomeTown offers a range of managed care health plans and services, including: A highly structured Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan A flexible Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan A Point of Service (POS) plan HomeTown SecureCare, a Medicare + Choice Plan, that offers seniors more healthcare services and benefits than original Medicare at a lower cost HomeTown's Premier Comp, a state-certified Managed Care Organization (MCO) that handles workers' compensation claims throughout Ohio. Our most important measure of success is a high level of patient satisfaction. In an independent survey, our members rated their satisfaction with the HomeTown plan at 8.1 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 representing the highest score. These scores are considered to be favorable based on nationally recognized guidelines for managed care health plans.
